NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 6, 2016 – UL, a global safety science leader, today announced the acquisition of Consumer Testing Laboratories Inc. (CTL), a leading multinational retail testing company, to expand UL’s global footprint and services.

CTL, a privately-held company based in Bentonville, Ark., is a recognized leader in quality assurance services for the retail industry. UL will leverage CTL’s facilities in five countries to extend its reach to its customer base and to offer a larger portfolio of services to these customers.

CTL is a strategic acquisition for us as we grow our global footprint to meet the increased demand in global consumer testing services,” said Sajeev Jesudas, SVP & President, UL Consumer. “In addition, CTL has an experienced leadership team with a long history of successfully managing relationships with customers, which makes it a great fit with UL.”

UL and CTL’s combined portfolio will help strengthen global relationships with key customers.

CTL’s employees will join UL’s Consumer & Retail Services division under Sajeev Jesudas, SVP & President, UL Consumer. The transaction closed on Oct. 4, 2016.
